A Friendly Club With A Lot To Offer!
The Trent Valley Dog Training Club is based at the Stanley Sheldon Building at the Newark Showground, where we mainly train in obedience.
Many other disciplines are taught at the club, but the foundation of all our activities is Basic Obedience.
The success of the club is due greatly to the Handlers and Trainers, working patiently and sympathetically , within a structured environment, with their Canine Partners.
The aim of the club is to run in accordance with the ideals of the Kennel Club, and it was to this end that the first Good Citizen Dog Training Course was implemented in 2009.  Several members have already passed their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, and members with puppies have completed their Puppy Foundation Courses.
We also run classes for Agility, Flyball and Nose-Work, and for the first three Mondays of each month we hold a Ring-Craft class for those members wishing to show their dogs.
All dogs are welcome.  Young puppies come to socialise before progressing through the classes to advanced work.

Due to rent increases at the Showground, the Club have found it necessary to increase fees in 2017. One year’s single membership will now be £15 (joint membership £20).  Attending a class will now cost £3 a session.  We apologise for this, , but when you think of the space and facilities available, and that, unlike some clubs, you don’t pay for classes you don’t attend, we feel it is still a bargain!
£15 per year       PLUS      £3 per training session

These arrangements may change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Check here, and in the newsletter,  regularly for alterations or cancellations.

Flyball and Agility Training in 2017!

Regular training at the Showground will restart on September 4th

Thanks to all those club members who helped at the Doodlefest show in Derbyshire on August 5th. We ran a ‘Have A Go Agility’ and ‘Have A Go Fly Ball’, and raised nearly £200 for Club funds.

Well done, folks!
